Before we start, here is what Federico Chiesa is capable of.

Becoming a football player was always going to be Federico life. The son of the iconic Enrico Chiesa was and still is expected to achieve more than his father.

The 22 year old winger is highly valued, especially in Italy, and Fiorentina are doing their best to keep his services for as long as possible.

His name has been linked to the biggest European clubs but La Viola won’t let go of him unless their demands are met. Not less than €80M.

But is he worth that much?

Chiesa is undoubtedly a dangerous player. One that can’t be left unmarked and on which a defender can’t afford to miss his tackle.

Chiesa can inside from both wings, cross, shoot, dribble but his main strength remains his pace. When offered space, he can cause chaos in a defence. Add to that his tendency to dive and he becomes a proper source of penalties and free kicks.

Then why would €80M be too much?

Let’s put it simply and clearly: balls that go through Federico Chiesa don’t often finish in the net.

Despite averaging 4 shots per game this season in Serie A, Chiesa only managed to score 6 times (also 3 assists) in 23 games.

While he clearly has what it takes to become a top footballer, many are worrying about his level of discipline and questioning the hype around him. Some would even argue that he only gets interest because of his father.

Others on the other hand believe he is from another world.
